OCI is grateful for the support our Benefactors and Patrons provide each year
Project 2025
• Cautionary Tales an opera for children and familes, composed by Errollyn Wallen with libretto/text by Hilaire Belloc and Pia Furtado, will be given five performances by Opera Collective Ireland in September 2025.
• Cautionary Tales is a music theatre opera about naughty children that will intrigue and entertain all the family! For seven year olds and older, this short opera is an adaptation of Hilaire Belloc’s verses, featuring memorable characters whose unruly behaviour is cautioned in humorously gruesome ways.
• Cautionary Tales is one of the most imaginative, innovative, playful and melodious operas for children. It’s a wonderfully wicked introduction to opera, and children – whether naughty or not – will absolutely love it. They’ll be talking about the colourful characters like lying Matilda and string-eating Harry King for weeks afterwards.
• Listen to the reaction of children following a performance of Cautionary Tales.
• OCI requires additional support of €20K for this project.
