Opera Collective Ireland’s mission is to elevate Ireland’s next generation of operatic talent by producing quality productions that provide valuable performance opportunities in major roles, a nurturing work environment and national exposure to enhance their career progression.
The combination of professional-level hands-on experience and mentoring from some of the best in the business make this training unique in Ireland. For many participants it is their first experience of the world of professional opera production and provides exceptional networking opportunities.
Opera Collective Ireland is the only company committed to casting 100% Irish and Irish-based singers in all roles and so giving audiences the unique opportunity to hear native talent on home soil.

Opera Collective Ireland provides professional opportunities for singers, instrumentalists and technical trainees. Our participants are usually about to begin or are already in the early stages of their professional careers.
The jewel in our crown is our annual fully staged opera – a major project that makes career-defining differences to many young professionals. Participants including young costume designers, trainee stage managers, young directors and conductors, work with established professionals to produce one (and more recently two) full-scale, professional operas.
Our pioneering company has nurtured and showcased the finest young Irish singers and led the way with a series of innovative partnerships at home and abroad working with among others, Kilkenny Arts Festival, Wexford Festival Opera, Northern Ireland Opera, Opera national de Paris, Opera Holland Park, Sestina, Irish Chamber Orchestra and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
