We were honoured to welcome Ambassador to Ireland in Germany, Dr Nicholas O’Brien, in his final official engagement in Germany, delivered inspiring opening remarks at our opening night reception brimming with dignitaries, artists and special guests.
Among those present were Prof. Georg Quander – Artistic Director of Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, Uwe Schneider – General Manager of Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Prof. Dr. Ulrike Liedtke – President of the State Parliament of Brandenburg, OCI’s Founder & Artistic Director Colette McGahon, and a dedicated group of OCI supporters from Ireland and Germany.

The final notes of the performances of Dido & Aeneas and Venus & Adonis reverberated through Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg on Sunday 11 August 2024, celebrating the three sell-out performances by Opera Collective Ireland, Resurgam, and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.

This remarkable event, part of Zeitgeist Irland 24 and supported by Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Germany, was a testament to the vibrant presence of Irish opera artists in Germany.
