Our rehearsals in Rheinsberg have been an absolute delight this summer. We’ve felt the warm embrace of a German ‘céad míle fáilte’ making the entire OCI cast and team from Ireland feel truly appreciated. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Embassy of Ireland in Berlin, Zeitgeist Irland 24 and Culture Ireland for their incredible support in promoting Irish culture abroad. Their efforts have provided us with this amazing platform to share our art with German audiences.

The weather in Rheinsberg has been amazing, adding to the charm of this idyllic spot by the lake and historic venue. The picturesque town, with its historic architecture and serene surroundings, is something everyone should experience. The local community and festival organisers have looked after us splendidly, making us feel right at home.

Opera Collective Ireland, Resurgam, and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin present a spectacular double bill: Henry Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas and John Blow’s Venus & Adonis at the Kammeroper Festival at Schloss Rheinsberg, Germany, from 9-11 August 2024.

As part of Zeitgeist Irland 24, an initiative by Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Germany, we’re excited to showcase the best of Irish talent among 400 other events throughout the year. This programme is a wonderful way to strengthen the cultural ties between Ireland and Germany.
